With the NBA season kicking off Tuesday night, we finally get to watch an exciting rookie class play at the next level. With almost every team playing last night, we were able to some of these rooks put in work. As a Duke fan, I have to start with these two. Justice Winslow had an explosive dunk in his Miami Heat debut, and Kahlil Okafor showed the footwork of an NBA All Star.

Okafor finished with 26 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 8 turnovers. The 76ers also fell to the Celtics 112-95. Hopefully Okafor can get used to that. For Winslow, he scored just 5 points in 26 minutes in the Heats 104-94 win over the Hornets.
The top two picks from this years NBA draft met last night in Los Angeles. Karl Anthony Towns had an impressive debut going 6-10 from the field and finishing with 14 points in 32 minutes of play. The first overall pick collected 12 rebounds in the Timberwolves 112-111 win. For the Lakers, D’Angelo Russell finished with just 4 points while shooting 2-7 from the field and 0-3 from beyond the arc.
The Knicks first round pick Kristaps Porzingis earned the start and dropped 16 points in just 24 minutes. The 7’3″ 20 year old was just 3-11 from the field but was 9-12 from the free throw stripe. He also chimed in with 5 rebounds as the Knicks took care of business over the Milwaukee bucks with a 112 to 97 victory.
