In a surprise move Friday the Buffalo Bills fired Offensive Coordinator Greg Roman. Just in his second season under Rex Ryan, Roman was the highest paid coordinator in the NFL. Buffalo dropped it’s second straight game Thursday night at home versus the NY Jets 37-31.
In week one, Roman’s offense produced just six points.
Ryan has promoted one of his longtime assistants and current RB coach Anthony Lynn to OC.
This is a real shocker, after the way the defense performed Thursday and for the better part of 2015 you would have thought drastic changes on that side of the ball would see be first shake up on the coaching staff.
Tyrod Taylor won the starting QB job after a decent outing last year. Taylor showed progress in 2016 and that landed him a multi-year contract, signed this past August. Taylor looked confused and unsure of his offense versus the Ravens last Sunday. On Thursday he hit two receivers with long TD’s and helped rally his team late and seemed to spread the ball around well.
Ryan took two ill advised time-outs in yesterdays loss to the Jets, the latter cost the Bills valuable time late in the game.
On too Arizona.
