Preseason Game #4 vs. Toronto

The Maple Leafs found their offense Friday night at Key Bank Center in Buffalo. Toronto pasted the Sabres 8-1 to close out back-to-back games. The Leafs opened up a 4-1 lead after the first 20 minutes and chased Buffalo starting goaltender Jason Kasdorf.

Derek Grant scored the lone goal for Buffalo drawing assists from Justin Bailey and Jake McCabe. Tyler Ennis and Bailey tied for the team high in shots on goal with 5 a piece. Kasdorf finished with 9 saves.

John Muse came in at the 14 mark of period one and allowed four goals on 27 shots. The Sabres went 0-4 on the power-play. They still are scoreless this preseason with the man advantage.

Dmitry Kulikov saw his first action as a Buffalo Sabres defenseman and played just under 20 minutes. He was a minus -1. Kuliov suffered a bruise on his “backside” after receiving a hit by the Leafs bench, that opened the door (happens on contact).

Nick Baptiste left the game with a lower-back injury.

Sabres are now 2-2-0 in the preseason.
