The Calgary Flames announced Monday afternoon that nine players have been tendered qualifying offers. Among them are forwards Sam Bennett, Michael Ferland, Garnet Hathaway, Curtis Lazar and Linden Vey. Also, defensemen Tyler Wotherspoon, Brett Kulak and goaltenders Jon Gillies and David Rittich.
Not receiving qualifying offers were Alex Chiasson (RW), defenseman Ryan Culkin and center Kenney Morrison.
Chiasson, the Boston University product appeared in 81 regular games last year for the Flames and four in the post-season. Back in 2014 Chiasson was one of the key components the Dallas Stars sent to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Jason Spezza.
The Flames traded Patrick Seiloff to the Sens late last June for Chiasson.
