Breeder Cup Predictions 2015

2015 breeders

It’s that time of year again horse racing fans where the greatest thoroughbreds in the world come together to see who is the champion of champions. There are no two greater days of horse racing on the planet. There will be 13 Grade 1 Stake races on the card over two days with $26 million on the line in purses. This year’s Breeders’ Cup Classic will feature Triple Crown winner American Pharoah who will be running the last race of his career. Can he go out on top after losing his last race to Keen Ice in the Travers Stakes at Saratoga Race Track? A big loss in this race was the scratching of the mare Beholder, winner of her last three Grade 1 races, who upset the boys earlier in the year. I was hoping for a “classic” showdown with American Pharoah.

Once again there will no shortage of European horses this year. A contingent of 23 horses crossed the pond for the Breeders’ Cup. On average the thoroughbreds shipping in from overseas have won two or more turf races each year. This year will be no exception.

Below are my three top selections (not in any particular order of finish) with just a short comment. If you see an “***” by the horse I’m keying that horse to win that race as one of my solid favorites. I’ll also be adding a long shot (a horse with opening odds of 10/1 or higher). Enjoy the next two days outstanding days of racing. Good luck to all the handicappers and bettors out there.
