On the heels of their heartbreaking MAC Championship Game loss against Northern Illinois, Buffalo has received some good news to look forward to.
The Bulls have been selected to play in the Dollar General Bowl versus Troy in Mobile, Alabama on December 22.
It’ll mark the third time in school history that they’ll participate in a bowl game.
Buffalo is the midst of their most successful season in program history. Their 10 wins are a school record while their 7-1 conference mark is their best finish since joining the Mid-American Conference in 1999.
“It has been a historic season for the University at Buffalo Football,” said UB Athletic Director Mark Alnutt. “This matchup has the makings to be one of the better ones this Bowl season. We can’t wait to get down to Mobile on December 18th.”
It’ll be the Bulls first ever matchup with Troy (9-3) who are representing the Sun Belt. The Trojans are led by running back B.J. Smith who led the conference with 1,093 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.
The Dollar General Bowl will be played at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 7pm and will air nationally on ESPN.
