NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Niagara women’s basketball head coach Jada Pierce has announced one more addition to the team’s roster for the 2019-20 season. Angel Parker will enroll at Niagara in the fall.

Parker is a local product, joining the Purple Eagles from Cardinal O’Hara High School in Tonawanda. This past season, Parker averaged 14.0 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game and 7.0 assists per game. She was a two-time Monsignor Player of the Year honoree (2017-18, 2018-19). Parker was an All-Western New York First Team selection following both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons and was the 2017-18 Player of the Year. She earned the Delorus Franz Female Athlete of the Year Award in 2018 and 2019 and her team were 2018 CHSAA Class AA state finalists. Parker competed at the club level with the Gauchos and she was named the Gymrat Challenge MVP in both 2016 and 2018. Parker also excelled in the classroom. She was a member of National Honor Society and earned an Advanced Honors Regents Diploma with Distinction and Mastery in Mathematics.
“We are excited to add Angel to our Purple Eagle family,” said Pierce. “She is not only a really good basketball player, but she is a terrific person. Angel is one of the toughest competitors on and off the court, which is why she excelled in the classroom at nearby Cardinal O’Hara high school.”
